It was way beyond expectations especially on a plane these days. I commend your catering art. Too bad you do not have a branch in Israel…

I’ve flown many times from Israel to NY and from NY back to Israel, requesting vegetarian meals both ways. I have found the Borenstein NY vegetarian meals are excellent and many times I’ve wanted to let you know how much your food is appreciated, even at 1 or 2 am! the quality of the food was excellent.

We have just returned from Tampa to London on a BA flight. Your kosher meal was very good - although the chicken was a little dry. However, it was vastly better than the kosher meal which I had on my outward journey from London.

Just thought you would like to know this!

I am writing to tell you of the very positive experience I had today speaking with Chris and your executive chef, Avner. Yesterday, I called your office because of concerns I had with food allergies for both my children and myself while in flight.

When I called, the receptionist put me through to Chris. He was polite and understanding of my dilemma. He suggested I call back today to speak with the chef.

When I did, Chef Avner was also polite and answered all my questions. Because of them I feel I can make an educated decision about what to eat during the flight.

I am very glad I took the time to call directly. I am also thankful that Chris and Avner work for you because they were willing to take the time to help a concerned mother assure her family a pleasurable flight experience.

I want to extend "kudos" to your in-flight food service on a recent trip to Israel a couple of weeks ago.

We flew from JFK to Tel Aviv on Feb 6, 2006 and I was pleasantly surprised the food was so tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, so much so that I wanted to know how I could obtain the hummus (?) you served with your warm bread? On the return flight (February 15) the flight attended informed me that you ran out by the time the food cart got to my aisle.
[Please correct me if that is not the right term for the spread that was served with the bread].

I have never been a lover of hummus, but every restaurant we went to in Israel (from Tiberias to Bethlehem to Tel Aviv) all served this wonderful creamy spread with warm pita bread. (Olive spread?)

After returning to the States, I eagerly went to the supermarket to purchase some, but was sadly disappointed as the taste was yucky, ugh!!! There is nothing like eating something fresh from the actual country or city in which it was made. Can you tell me what the spread was and more importantly, how I can obtain it?

I was on flight Y2 (February 6, 7:30 pm and arrived in Tel Aviv on Feb. 7 at 12:30 pm)

We write this short letter to express our appreciation of the excellent in-flight dinner we received flying from New-York to Manchester (England).

We have learnt from previous experiences of the wide differences in standard and quality of different kosher (in-flight) meals around the world.

We had never received a "Borenstein" meal before, but ny anxiety we might have felt was quickly and beautifully expelled experiencing your very well cooked chicken breast pieces in an excellent bed of rice and gravy.

Our compliments to your chief chef and his\her team.

We will certainly look out for Borenstein again on our next USA flight.
